XCOLLAR AND NEXSPLINT
AS AIRWAY MANAGEMENT
TOOLS
In cases when airway is compromised (for example, a cardiac arrest patient) the XCollar and NeXsplint applied after intubation allow rescuers to manage and secure an advanced airway without the need to stop providing CPR in the process of packaging and transporting the patient.
If an unstable airway condition appears after the XCollar application, the XCollar can be gradually loosened while maintaining cervical stabilization, allowing rescuers to intubate the patient without removing the device, maintaining cervical stabilization and securing the airway for transport in a more efficient manner.
