Cervical immobilization procedures have been unchanged for over a decade. They are time-consuming, manpower demanding and ineffective. Therefore in many cases, when patients are found at a scene of an accident with limited access for EMS crews or upon the presence of multiple patients, EMS providers have limited capabilities as to the immediate treatment they can provide.

We are introducing a new technology that gives EMS providers the capabilities to overcome these difficulties. We achieve this simply by utilizing true Head to Torso splinting immobilization with one tool. This system allows for faster treatment, to multiple patients, using less equipment and requiring fewer personnel.

Our technology has been proven to better immobilize the cervical spine and to offer force multiplier capabilities. The University of Pittsburg in a recently conducted Comparison Study of the XCollar System versus two other cervical collars concludes: ‘’The XCollar can provide an acceptable alternative to manual cervical immobilization in situations where the number of patients exceeds the number of EMS providers.’’ The results clearly show the superiority of our technology and have been published in the April issue of Pre-Hospital Emergency Care.
